2022 FOI #15 GSM
Over 25 years we have made 14 special wines exclusively for our wine club members. It is not every year that we produce an FOI wine. However, the character of this wine blew us away! We are thrilled to showcase our first GSM ever! Label artwork by Eliana Isenhower, age 15.
This is our first wine club exclusive wine that is a single vineyard blend and our first GSM ever in 25 years of winemaking! The FOI No. 15 GSM has a medium red hue with deep and luscious aromas of rainier cherry, blackberry, white and black pepper, loamy earth, graphite, allspice, and coriander. The flavors mirror the aromas. The mouthfeel is broad, mouth-filling, and luscious. Just beautiful and interesting!
Fermentation: 100% hand-harvested and 100% destemmed into open-top fermenters. Inoculated with a variety of Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Saccharomyces uvarum and Pichia kluyveri.
Élevage: 14 months in 300 L used French oak barrels
Additions: Yeast, organic and inorganic yeast nutrients, tartaric acid, minimally necessary SO2
