2022 Jongleur Petit Verdot - WINE OF THE MONTH
100% Petit Verdot from Dionysus Vineyard. A Jongleur is a medieval wanderer, entertainer, and juggler. We borrowed the term Jongleur as a metaphor for our lifestyle as small business owners, winemakers, and parents of three daughters. - October's Wine of the Month - 10% off!
This Petit Verdot has aromas of currant, blackberry liquor, white pepper, saddle leather, violets, and vanilla. Flavors of plush spiced currant & blueberry with dried herbs, cedar, and flint. Tight freshness and long tannins. Enjoy through 2035.
Fermentation: 100% hand-harvested and hand-sorted fruit. Destemmed and must-pumped to open top fermenters. Inoculated with a variety of organic yeasts (Saccharomyces cerevisiae and Pichia kluyveri). Punched down twice daily with three pump-overs. Pressed at dryness.
Élevage: 22 months in 50% new 300 liter French oak barrels (AnA Selection and TSO; medium toast). Racked twice.
INGREDIENTS: Petit Verdot grapes, yeast, organic yeast nutrients, tartaric acid, and minimally necessary sulfur dioxide.
