2022 Prima Rosa Barbera Rose
The Prima Rosa Barbera Rosé is 100% Barbera from Lonesome Springs Vineyard. It is made for PCC Markets in the Seattle area. There are a few cases available for sales from our Winery and Woodinville Tasting Room. Beautifully crisp with flavors of ripe strawberry, apricot, and bing cherry.
Tasting notes
The barbera has a salmon-orange hue. Initial aromas include ripe strawberry, apricot, and bing cherry. There is a note of beeswax and dried herbs. The aromas have a lovely texture. On the pallet the Barbera is lovely. It is crisp with a dense core of fruit, including strawberry, cherry, and apricot. Very PInkalicious!
Production notes
The Barbera was Pellenc-harvested early in the morning of November 1. Once the grapes arrived at the winery, the juice was pumped to tank and the grapes were pressed. On average the grapes soaked on the skins for 6 hours. The wine was fermented in a stainless-steel tank with a yeast that produces copious amounts of esters and retains acidity. The Barbera rested on the lees for 2 months, was racked once, and bottled on January 26, 2023.
